Summer Public Health Advocacy Fellowship

If so, The Health Trust’s Summer Public Health Advocacy Fellowship may be just what you are looking for!

The goal of The Health Trust Summer Public Health Advocacy Fellowship is to provide an immersive and educational public health advocacy experience for undergraduate and graduate students. Fellows will develop academic and career skills, as well as experience personal growth, while learning how to partner with communities to advance health equity and justice. The program is guided by two core principles: 

  • Strengthening the voice and power of low-income and immigrant communities to shape conditions that allow all of us to thrive. 
  • Leveraging public health science to change policy and systems to better protect and promote healthy environments and opportunities for all in Silicon Valley. 

Fellows will be assigned a core focus area to develop in concert with community partner organizations and be exposed to various aspects of advocacy practice including: 

  • Community Organizing & Base Building 
  • Opinion Polling & Community Surveying 
  • Research & Data Analysis 
  • Communications & Narrative Change 
  • Coalition Building and Support 

Summer Fellowships: 
Summer Fellowship recruitment occurs in late March to late April. 

  • All fellowship positions are full time, 40 hours per week. 
  • The program offers 6 to 8 fellowship positions. 
  • Fellows receive hourly compensation of $20 for their participation in the program. 
  • The fellowships will run for 8 consecutive weeks from June 15th through August 7th.
