San Jose, CA – On Wednesday, June 26, 2019, The Health Trust Board of Trustees elected David J Neighbors as its new Board Chair. David has been a member of the Board of Trustees for over six years. Although David is a distinguished professional with more than 30 years of business experience specializing in corporate and individual tax compliance and planning, his greatest asset to the board is his lived experience.

“Born and raised in East San Jose, The Health Trust’s mission really resonates with me and my values,” stated David. “I believe in leveling the playing field, changing the odds for our most vulnerable residents so that they can have an opportunity to be healthy. The Health Trust is uniquely positioned to do this for those that need it most – low-income children, families, and older adults – and I look forward to helping guide our mission as Board Chair. “

Joining David as officers of the board are Joann Zimmerman as Vice Chair – an experienced health care CEO and community health care advocate – and Emily Lam as Secretary – current Director of Policy and Government Affairs for the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission.

In addition to electing its new officers, The Health Trust Board of Trustees also added three new members to its board: Analilia Garcia, current Senior Health Care Manager for the Santa Clara County Public Health Department; Ann Ravel, former Chair and Commissioner of the Federal Elections Commission, former Chairperson of the California Fair Political Practices Commission, a former U.S. Deputy Assistant Attorney General, and former County Counsel for the County of Santa Clara; and Craig Stephens, current Public Health Program Director and Professor at Santa Clara University.
