On January 16, 2019, Health Trust Chief Executive Officer, Michele Lew, as a member of the Coalition for Hospital Responsibility, co-signed a letter urging the California Office of the Attorney General to allow the sale of O’Connor and St. Louise Hospitals to the County of Santa Clara. The Coalition for Hospital Responsibility believes that purchase by the County is the only feasible strategy for allowing these hospitals to remain open and to provide services to those in need. Furthermore, the County has a stellar reputation for maintaining an open door policy and providing high quality care to all patients regardless of economic status.
