On November 13, 2018, Health Trust Chief Executive Officer, Michele Lew, submitted a letter on behalf of The Health Trust to the Department of Homeland Security strongly opposing the Department’s Notice of Proposed Rulemaking on “public charge.” Michele urges that the rule be withdrawn in its entirety and that the 1999 guidance remain in effect, as the proposed rule threatens to cause lasting damage to our regional community and undermines our efforts to build health equity for the most vulnerable in Silicon Valley.
