On January 26, 2018, we were recognized as Non-Profit of the Year 2017 at Rainbow Chamber of Commerce Silicon Valley’s 1st Annual Celebrating Success Awards Luncheon.
We are extremely grateful for having been bestowed this honor by Rainbow Chamber of Commerce Silicon Valley for our long-standing commitment to serving Silicon Valley’s most vulnerable communities and for Senator Bob Wieckowski’s certificate of recognition commemorating this award.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the LGBTQ SENIOR PROGRAM at the Billy DeFrank Community Center which strives to:
- Move seniors out of isolation and keep them connected through lunches and field trips, etc.
- Advocate for senior LGBTQ issues in housing affordability and acceptance
- Ensure that City & County age-friendly initiatives include LGBTQ residents
- Educate the public on LGBTQ senior issues
