Volunteer Opportunities
The Health Trust believes that advancing wellness in Silicon Valley requires more than just individual volunteers -- it requires the involvement of the community. At The Health Trust, we successfully match community members with rewarding volunteer experiences. Whether volunteers are students seeking an internship or fulfilling a community service requirement, or they are retirees, working professionals, or someone in job transition, The Health Trust offers a "one-stop shop" of volunteer opportunities unique to our region.
When people volunteer, it enables us to leverage their time, talents and energies to expand our commitment to a wide range of programs and initiatives. We all work together as a community, giving greater access to health care for those who are truly in need.

Volunteer!
Meals On Wheels
For 30 years, Meals On Wheels has helped thousands of individuals remain independent and in their own homes. Volunteers are needed throughout Santa Clara County to provide nutritious home-delivered meals and companionship to seniors and other homebound adults.
The Living Center
The Neil A. Christie Living Center provides a safe haven for those living with HIV/AIDS to interact with other community members in a positive environment. The goal of the center is to promote the optimum health and well-being of people living with HIV/AIDS, and to educate the community about the disease.
The Food Basket
The Food Basket provides food and nutritional supplements to individuals and families with HIV/AIDS. Volunteers are needed to help pack and deliver food to homebound residents, as well as to assist the more mobile clients who come to the center to pick up their food.
Healthy Steps in Silicon Valley: Resources for health & fitness after 50
Become a trained Health Champion and promote lifelong health in Santa Clara County with Healthy Steps in Silicon Valley, a guide for adults 50+ for staying active in and outside the home, overcoming obstacles, affordable local resources, fall prevention, managing common health issues, and nutrition. Let us know how you would like to be engaged: be trained and equipped to give or assist in 15, 30, or 60 minute presentations, attend fairs and other community events to promote Healthy Steps, help with publicity, lead or be involved in a regional taskforce team, or tell us what you would like to do!
Youth Engaged in Advancing Health (YEAH!) Program
The Health Trust has developed a comprehensive program to engage high school students in improving their own health behaviors, promoting healthy physical activity and nutrition behaviors to their peers and their community, and advocating for policies that support a healthy school environment. Through this program students lead health related service projects and participate in enrichment, and leadership activities. The program includes opportunities for mini-grants to support student service projects, Student Wellness Champion Awards, and a Healthy School Award.
Silicon Valley HealthCorps
School and community gardens promote healthier eating and physical activity while enhancing civic engagement and our sense of community. They are a proven solution to the obesity epidemic, making nutritious food and physical activity more readily available to people of all ages. In an innovative new partnership, The Health Trust has joined together with AmeriCorps and ten local organizations to form the Silicon Valley HealthCorps. The goal of this collaboration is to use gardens, farm to school programs and the work of 46 AmeriCorps volunteers to bring fresh fruits, vegetables and education to residents of Santa Clara and San Mateo counties.
