We would like to thank everyone that participated in the 12th Annual Applied Materials Silicon Valley Turkey Trot. Proceeds will go toward The Health Trust Better Choices, Better Health program, which teaches people living with chronic health conditions to live healthier, more independent lives.

Better Choices Better Health is a six-session, peer-taught health education workshop that helps individuals take day-to-day responsibility for their care and to increase their skills needed to manage their disease and work effectively with their health care professionals.  The model, used around the world, was developed by Stanford University’s Kate Lorig.

The Health Trust is the fifth beneficiary of the Turkey Trot.  It joins Healthier Kids Foundation Santa Clara County, Housing Trust Silicon Valley, Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties, and Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Cruz County.
